How to use
  • Drop in as many images as you like. They are compressed straight away and again whenever you change a setting.
  • A quality of 70–80% usually looks the same as the original at a fraction of the size. Lower it for smaller files.
  • Auto keeps JPEG photos as JPEG and turns PNG, GIF and others into WebP, which keeps transparency and is much smaller. Pick JPEG if you need the widest compatibility.
  • Reducing the max width / height saves the most — a 4000-pixel phone photo rarely needs to be more than 1920 pixels wide on the web.
Good to know
  • If an image can't be made smaller with your settings, the original file is kept.
  • Compressed images don't include EXIF metadata such as GPS location.
  • Animated GIFs become a still image. Everything happens in your browser — your images are never uploaded.
